Falling for fall
Inspo to hold us over until Christmas. Sorry guys, I like to keep it Fall themed until after Thanksgiving.
I’m a sucker for the classics. Classic colors inspired by nature. Be it natural woods, shapes and textures, the use of natural elements takes shape in our home all year. It just intensifies during the holidays. I personally am a sucker for mini pumpkins, natural foliage, and white candles in lanterns for Fall.
I have a few gold lanterns from thrift shops, Anthropology, and Home Goods. Equally as great are 2 black lanterns from Ikea that I use year round. A large and a medium. I like to mix up what is placed in them.
Sometimes its a mini pumpkin, and eucalyptus. Sometimes a simple white candle (love World Market for these) or wild grass. You can find foliage at Trader Joe’s as well, or literally in your backyard as I did.
Lately I have been burning Trader Joes Vanilla Pumpkin and Honeycrisp apple. Both light up the room..literally and with an amazing fresh baked aroma. It’s as if I baked something.
*helpful hint-they are on amazon as well. See the link below!
During the Fall, I have also switched up my diffuser in the living/dining area to smell more “Fall”-I mean it is still 75 and sunny in San Diego, but we like to pretend.
I have been mixing nutmeg, clove, and grapefruit or eucalyptus and grapefruit. I personally love the brand Now for my diffuser.
Anything that we are putting on our bodies needs to be a higher quality. I find Doterra, “Breathe” to be especially amazing for my sinuses. I rub a little under my nose and some on my pillow at night.
I continue to run either Lavender or Lemongrass from Now in our diffuser we keep in our bedroom. I find the diffuser helps add a little humidity and aid with sleep.
The best part about “Fall” is the time to switch things up. Move furniture, change out throw pillows, and go to bed early cause you know…its dark at 5:00pm.
